When Sarah Outlaw began her New Jersey natural medicine practice in 2015, she never imagined she’d be opening a tropical paradise in downtown Des Moines only six years later. And, as unlikely as it sounds, Kava DSM is Natural Health Improvement Center’s logical outgrowth. The purpose of both is simply to help people feel better, to “let people live their life the way they deserve to live it; to the fullest.”
A community collaboration bringing together local favorites including Nourished DSM and Sleepy Cat Coffee Roasters, Kava DSM’s lush atmosphere, courtesy of tropical plants from Petals and Moss, pairs the feel of the south seas with Sarah’s memories of her childhood home on the Jersey shore. Kava DSM’s menu re-creates the islands, too, in vibrant colors and tropical flavors. In all, it is a true feast. |
